Warsaw’s Royal Route is the historic route of Polish monarchs, the heart of the historic centre and the city’s most prestigious thoroughfare! Almost completely destroyed during the Second World War, it was carefully rebuilt and is now a striking European symbol of rebirth.

We will begin on elegant Krakowskie Przedmieście, where Polish nobles and royal families built their palaces and residences. We will see the Presidential Palace, leading universities and magnificent churches: St Anne’s, the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and St Joseph, and the Basilica of the Holy Cross. Along the way we will discover aristocratic palaces, historic hotels, monuments and small squares. We will discuss Frédéric Chopin, Adam Mickiewicz, Nicolaus Copernicus and Marie Skłodowska-Curie, and learn how Polish people lived after losing their independence.

The route will then lead us into the Old Town, the heart of historic Warsaw. We will discover the Market Square, elegant façades and quiet, picturesque streets that retain a medieval atmosphere.

The Royal Route is one of the best ways to immerse yourself in Warsaw’s history. You will see some of the capital’s most beautiful places and discover a city with a vibrant soul, an extraordinary past and a unique story.

This park is often called Warsaw’s happiest place! Royal Łazienki is a palace and park complex in the south of the city and the summer residence of King Stanisław August Poniatowski. Picturesque pavilions, palaces, bridges and sculptures fill the grounds, where colourful peacocks wander, squirrels hide and mandarin ducks and large carp inhabit the ponds. It is a place where politics, art and everyday city life meet.

We will explore all the park’s gardens: modernist, romantic, Chinese and royal. A highlight will be a walk beside the Palace on the Isle, one of Europe’s most beautiful eighteenth-century country residences. We will learn how influential people of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth spent their leisure time, how the Romanov family influenced the park’s history, and about its creator, Poland’s last king, who was forced to abdicate.

Royal Łazienki is an ideal route for lovers of life’s pleasures who want to enjoy nature, history and art in one of Warsaw’s most beautiful settings.

Modern Warsaw’s city centre is its most ambitious district, with a touch of nostalgia and a little madness. Communist-era heritage blends with ultramodern skyscrapers, while eclectic architecture creates a distinctly Warsaw atmosphere.

Behind the stylish façades and glass towers lies a complex history, from surviving late-nineteenth-century Art Nouveau gems to the tragedies of the Warsaw Ghetto and traces of the Second World War.

We will walk along the renewed, fashionable streets of Chmielna, Złota, Bracka and Szpitalna, and pause at Five Corners Square. At Powstańców Warszawy Square, formerly Napoleon Square, we will discuss the emperor’s influence on the city and the Warsaw Uprising. We will admire original Art Nouveau architecture, explore Poland’s communist past beside the iconic Palace of Culture and Science, and find a surviving fragment of the Warsaw Ghetto wall.

This tour of modern central Warsaw is for those who appreciate authentic big-city aesthetics, unexpected contrasts and the deeper meanings of history.

Warsaw is a city of contrasts, where every street changes the mood and every district has its own distinctive character. You cannot understand this capital at a glance, but you can experience its remarkable variety in one eventful trip!

Our journey will begin on the left bank of the Vistula, where the capital’s history comes alive in its best-known squares: Theatre Square, Krasiński Square, Bank Square and Parade Square.

We will discover the capital’s main thoroughfares: Marszałkowska, the lively Aleje Jerozolimskie and elegant Aleje Ujazdowskie, the city’s political quarter, where former palaces stand alongside diplomatic residences and embassies.

We will reach Constitution Square, a grand showcase of post-war Warsaw whose monumental architecture reveals an entire era and its ideology. Then we will enter a very different Warsaw: Wola, the city’s Manhattan, where skyscrapers rise rapidly among glass and steel and a new business centre is taking shape. We will also drive through the former Warsaw Ghetto, a place associated with one of the most tragic chapters in the city’s history.

Finally, we will discover Praga on the right bank of the Vistula. It is the capital’s most authentic, distinctive and creative district, with a special atmosphere, unique urban folklore and an entirely different pace of life.

In just a few hours, Warsaw will reveal its many sides: grand and welcoming, historic and modern, dramatic and inspiring. A city of contrasts, ambition and constant change.

The car tour is ideal for anyone who loves big cities with a strong character, values their time and prefers to travel in comfort!

Marina — your Warsaw guide

Hello, dear travellers!

Marina Gorbatsevich · WarsGoTours

My name is Marina. I am Belarusian, but I have lived in Warsaw for more than nine years. During that time, I have fallen in love with the city and found work that I truly enjoy!

For more than four years I have been guiding visitors around Warsaw, revealing the city through its people, stories, unusual details and little secrets, as well as its dates, names and architecture.

I am a historian and cultural studies specialist. I graduated from Pinsk College of Arts and then from the History Faculty of Belarusian State University. I have also completed professional city-guide courses in Warsaw.

I enjoy telling history vividly and clearly, without dry lectures. On my tours, I want you to do more than remember a few facts about Warsaw: I want you to feel the city and see it through my eyes.

And then I invite you simply to take a walk. Every street has a story, every house has its secrets, and Warsaw has a character all its own. Let’s get to know each other!
